Has Anybody Ever Attend A Class Or Seminar On Personal Finance? Did It Help You?

Do you think it is just better to read books on this. So far I read a couple books. I was thinking of attending a class.

Yes, but they tried to sell me something. So i didn’t trust anything they taught. Read the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times business sections. YOu will learn more than the experts who teach the classes..

I HIGHLY recommend Dave Ramsey’s “Total Money Makeover – Live Event”. If it doesn’t change how you look at money, I don’t know what will.

I did when I was in my 20s. It was the best money spent. Took two.
Household Finance Basics. Second one was Looking to the Future.
That covered Buying a home, saving for retirement. The seminar is more hands on and unlike just reading about it, you can ask questions.

Recently they had one at my moms bank and it did help. Now, we use our money a little bit more wisely, although we often forget some of the things we were told in the class. One tip was to empty your lose change into a jar whenever you see it or have it. I did this over the past few weeks, and I have like 7 dollars in change. It’s a little bit, but it feels good to say that i saved my money and I am making more wise choices when it comes to money. So, I think you should try it.
