Unfortunately they don’t teach this at school- how to save money, how to find and buy the first property, what’s involved in the process of purchase and what do all these terms such as “vender” and “section 32″ mean??? Anyone know any simple to read literature to educate?

I recommend first reading Dave Ramsey’s “Total Money Makeover”. This will help you learn what you need to be doing with your money in the first place. Save, stay out of debt, avoid credit cards like the plague, etc. Another really good read is “The Millionaire Next Door”. This also helps you get in the right mindset. When we were buying our first home, my husband read “Homebuying for Dummies” but I don’t recall if he actually got a lot out of it. It should at least help you with basic terms and the like. The most important thing is to live below your means, save up to buy things rather than relying on credit, and don’t finance more house than you really need or can easily afford.
