Personal finance is about how to manage your own money. Budgeting, setting priorities, balancing your checkbook, how to get and stay out of debt, basic investing, etc.
You do not need to be good at math or have taken any advanced math courses to understand this. If you're comfortable with grade-school math you will have no problem.
A personal finance course is enormously valuable for anyone and everyone. Learning how to handle your finances will have a powerful impact on your life and the well-being of your family. I would strongly recommend taking this course even if you didn't get course credit for it.
